I had a question about the Meta data. Do we control those on our own blog? If do, where?

  • Posted August 2, 2014 at 3:04 am | Permalink

Good question, Margo. I’m going to punt that to Donna!

    Hi Margo,

I would not recommend changing html code on your blog, it may inadvertently change how the template looks. However, if you use blogger you can…

Click the picture within your post
    Click properties
Add keywords in the alt text box (i.e., whale poacher’s children’s book)
    Click OK
It then places the keywords within the html code

If you utilize WordPress or a different blog host, Google “How to add alt text for pictures in WordPress”

You should then receive websites for directions on how to to do this.

    Hope this helps.

    Best,
    Donna

I use WordPress. When you upload a picture to the site, you can add Alt text and a link attached to that picture before submitting it. You can also add a Meta description where you can insert the keywords you want to highlight, up to 156 characters. Pretty cool that they give you the tools!
